resume

"The world is old and full of imperfections, like the flaw in a diamond. I look for this in the objects I create. To imitate this age, to find the cracks and the dust, the history. Like reflections of what was, or what could have been..."

"I am in love with process, with the way that things are made. The marks left by the process are beautiful. A clue to its creation. Each process is unique, like a snowflake or a fingerprint. These signs are a record of its history. A trail to follow. To see the process is like seeing the hand of the creator in the world. It makes it real, makes it genuine."

"I know that as long as I continue doing only the things I enjoy, I will do them well. My goal is simply to do what I love. I want to create my world and live there."

"What is it? What does it mean?" I reply, "It is."

"Who are you, what are you saying?"

I reply, " I am,"

This is the one thing I can be sure of.

For as long as he can remember, brad isdrab has been working in clay, metal, and concrete, molds, resin, plastic, silicon and fiberglass. As a sculptor brad isdrab sees himself as a thing-maker.

As an artist he sees himself as a maker of worlds. Each thing is a hint of something more, part of the story. brad isdrab's world is old and full of imperfections. He describes himself as being in love with process. The marks left by the process are a record of it's history, a trail to follow. Seeing these clues is like seeing the hand of the creator in the world. To find the cracks and dust, the history, reflections of what was, or may have been.

brad isdrab is the founding member of UNETHICAL productions. He has worked in many different media, including performance art, music, film, painting and sculpture. Through UP he has been collaborating with artists from an even wider spectrum of disciplines, to bring his art to the next level.
